Mindfulness with Fern Israel

Fern is a creative and expressive Yoga teacher bringing over 35-years experience to each class. In 1973, she began her interest in understanding the body as an energy field and since then has had the privilege of studying with exceptional teachers and masters from different traditions. Fern’s style of Yoga was influenced by B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar Yoga) and Patabi Jois, (Ashtanga Yoga) . She works with alignment, gravity awareness and breath. In addition to Yoga, Fern has a long established meditation practice. As the Clinical Director of the Mind/Body Stress Reduction Program at Milton Hospital, she has helped hundreds of individuals find peace within challenging times through the part of Mindfulness. Fern also became the Meditation Teacher of Morrie Schwartz, the Brandeis professor who subsequently died from Lou Gehrigs disease and whose journey was highlighted in the New York Times best Seller Book, “Tuesdays with Morrie”. At Reebok HQ, Fern is very happy to be able to share her practice with students new and old.
