Principles of Mental Health Practice with LGBT Children and Adolescents II: Clinical Considerations

In this video, Stewart Adelson, M.D., a psychiatrist at Columbia University, discusses clinical considerations for psychiatric work with LGBT youths. Dr. Adelson is the author of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s (AACAP) “Practice Parameter on Gay, Lesbian, or Bisexual Sexual Orientation, Gender Nonconformity, and Gender Discordance in Children and Adolescents.”

Dr. Adelson is a member of the Organizing Committee of the LGBT Health Initiative at the Columbia University Medical Center, which is jointly sponsored by the Division of Gender, Sexuality, and Health (NYS Psychiatric Institute and Columbia Psychiatry) and the Columbia School of Nursing.
